Samyama means making certain truths practical.
Do Samyama on Love:
Patanjali speaking about love. Then it is a sure shot thing. I can be 100% sure Patanjali would never have had romance in his life! Because even an iota of love does not exist in any of his works whether it is his Maha Bhaashya, Ayurveda or Siddha.
I have no doubt he had a snake body. Snake body is a symbol of awakened Kundalini. So all his energy went up to the Sahasrara. He is incarnation of Adi Sesha. He came down to experience the cosmic dance of Shiva through him. Most surprising thing is he has not mentioned Devi even once! No where he speaks about Devi in any of his sutras or stotras.
Suddenly here is a sutra on love! Love in the aspect of masculine gender is philosophical love, philosophizing love means you go on talking about it and destroy the power & joy of love. That is what I call masculine version of love – philosophizing love.
But Patanjali is straight away touching the feminine version of love. He has done such large voluminous works. If you write only one book you can write many of your qualities. But if your whole life is writing books and expressing, you cannot hide the main components in you. All the works of Patanjali has done, even if somebody has to copy that it will take 100s of years.
But no where the component of Devi or romance happens. I did not want that to happen to our sangha. That is the reason I put Devi on the lap of Shiva. Because if the Devi side is missing, we become dry sampradaaya. All sampradaayas slowly become terrorist organizations.
It is feminine energy and Devi aspect which keeps man away from terrorism. Otherwise the aggressive masculine energy lands into violence. Little bit of love the Devi energy added people will be more loving and compassionate.
Love! Vast huge ocean. The subject which will taste different from different banks or beaches. It is like an ocean tastes different, looks different in different places, feels different in different beaches. You cannot even use the word emotion. It is not emotion. It is eNmotion. It is the energy which makes motion happen in you from enlightenment towards enlightenment.
When the glimpse of enlightenment happens in you, what happens in you between then and till the point you become enlightenment is what I call love. I will work on this chapter by chapter or dimension by dimension. So much I have spoken on love still that subject remains untouched.
Let me first express from the angle of Patanjali. He speaks about love here for the sake of samyama. He gives it to us as a technique. He says do samyama on these great qualities and excel in them. Through this he approves the expression of love and he instructs all yogis to excel in love. He makes this as a technique. A powerful expression!
Expression of the consciousness in you, when it penetrates your blocking low mood logic and expresses itself, in spite of your logic, it is called love. Inside you there is an intense super consciousness constantly waiting to break through your body and express itself.
But your secure low mood logic goes on saying that if you are so open, so alive, who ever goes around you will exploit you physically, mentally, economically. Men feel if they are too loving, women will exploit them economically; women feel if they are too loving, men will exploit them physically; and both feel they will be exploited emotionally!
Always you have the fear if you express love, you will be exploited. So there is a certain logic in you which completely bans you from flowing. Your life is like a river. Only 2 ways of life exists. 1. The river which is embanked, the river which is dammed!
Embanked means doesnt completely stop, use it properly. Tell the river where it should not go. That’s all. Making the rules minimum so that the flow of life is also useful for you. There is another way of life where you completely block it, stop It – like saying from now onwards, I will dictate direct you what to do.
When consciousness is expressing in you love is like an embankment, like a flow. Build a dam to the logic and exploit as you want. All fellows are afraid of bank but they don’t understand they are caught in the dam. The life flow in you is like a river. If you are afraid of love, you are afraid of the embankment happening around you.
True embankment also does some restrictions. But the fear of love, the secure logic which creates obstruction to love, which goes on creating ideas against love in you is like a dam. It completely stops the life force. Not just shining in eyes, even shining in skin changes when you stop the flow of love in you.
By Samyama, I mean again & again & again making certain truths practical. Of course the dictionary also accepts the meaning I give. I was presenting a concept in yesterday’s samyama. I said the money you generate by creating, not by grabbing or robbing or swindling or snatching from others. NO. the money you generate by creation, creativity is equivalent to spiritual maturity.
Some said spiritual people may not have attitude for money. I said these 4 things – 1. Need to be intelligent (brahmana) 2. Need to be powerful (kshatriya). 3. Need to be having all infra structure, be rich and expanding (vysya) 4. Need to be working and alive (sudra). In all of you, all these 4 are there. If energy is not flowing in one, please be clear the other 3 also will not be flowing.
Nonsensical laziness constantly being justified in the name of lose useless dumb theories and adding sacredness to those idiotic poverty, making idiocy into legacy.
There was a very valid argument brought to me why Ramana Maharshi was so passive and non-working. Just because all his pictures were taken in the couch where he was lying, it does not mean he was not working! Otherwise if you look into the reminiscences in Ramana Maharshi’s life he is such a workaholic.
He himself will cook, do construction and take care of cows and other animals in the ashram. Unfortunately in course of time only the words he uttered gets recorded and becomes popular never the deeds he did.
I want to make it clear – my life is my message! Not my message is my life! If anybody has a problem with my life, feels conflict or disturbance about my life, forget about learning from me. I am not your Guru, go to some other Guru, best wishes, best of luck, good bye! My life is my message.
Because unfortunately humans understand only the words and transmit only the words to next generation, the problem may arise in future, it may be said that I was only talking and doing nothing else. All other things dont get recorded. I want all of you know I am a active workaholic person who works 20 hrs a day. I stand for all 4 dimensions of life.
If Inner Awakening has happened in you, all 4 happen in you. if all 4 have not happened in you, then Inner Awakening has not happened in you. People go on justifying their laziness into Ramana’s satva. It is not that they are not interested in power or wealth but they are not ready to take responsibility for it.
The attitude and understanding is the problem not the 4 aspects itself. Even with love, it is not that you don’t want to be loving with others. Everyone knows the power of love – how it heals you and heals others. How powerful it is in making your life rich, juicy, pickly. Rasam has become an English word now. Rasam, Guru all are English words now. We will make word Avataar into English word.
Sweet experiences of love constantly reminds you when you open up. I am not talking about only romantic love which is towards one person. I am talking about the love which opens up in you, towards the whole and love with your own self.
Otherwise constantly you are busy with the yellow journalist inside you who is constantly writing yellow journals about you. you are busy going on supplying news about you to that yellow journalist. And the whole day you go on reading about it.
The yellow journalist sitting inside you, constantly writing dirty articles for you is the dam for you. He is not protection for you. dam is not protection for river, it is destruction for river. Only embankment is protection. Love is embankment, logic is dam.
Do samyama on love. Sit and meditate on the beautiful inner space you go through, when you are in love with you and with the whole. Here Patanjali is not saying contemplate on the love which was directed towards one person. NO.
At some time you feel so good about being you, being who you are. That happens very rarely! If you are feeling deeply – wow, I am really worthy of what I am, worthy of whatever I am experiencing, worthy of life. When you are experiencing love for self, suddenly you will experience it for the whole. Suddenly you will see everyone is worthy of what they are.
The love you experience towards you, will make you experience the love towards the whole. Meditate on that kind of love – when you feel love towards you and love towards everything you feel like blessing everything. Do samyama on that space.
Not just love that flows to one person. That is okay. But Patanjali is asking you to do samyama on the love experience which you had towards you, towards the whole. Then you will just exult, radiate those qualities. Not only that, you will just be able transmit those qualities by your very presence.
Maitriyaadishu Balaani means strength. Strength has 3 different definitions.
1. You will have the quality,
2. You will be able to transmit that qualities to others,
3. You will know how to make that quality strength for you.
I have seen many people claiming their weakness as love. Love will be a strength. And it will make you creative and alive. Friendliness and love, when you do samyama on it, when you contemplate on it, when you start expressing it, it will be a strength because you will be in love with you and the whole, you will be able to transmit it. You will know how to use it as a strength – power.
You will just spontaneously declare things and you will fulfill it. just the other day very spontaneously I declared this year we will have Kailash Yatra. We are going to have Kailash Yatra this year! Already we started planning. Just a spontaneous declaration and it just happens!
Love in its pure intense form, love in its very source is strength. That is why Patanjali declares Balaani – be strong by excelling in love. Radiating love. Let the samyama on love strengthen you. Try today whole day, try samyama on love.
The moments you felt so good about you, you loved yourself – how you look, how you feel about you, who you are. Remember those moments and remember when you had the love for the whole. Remember those moments. Do samyama on it. You will experience the strength of love! Blessings!
